Shir thought she fulfilled her biggest dream when she played in Jazz festivals and saw her name written next to names of artists like Herbie Hancock, Chick Correa, Diana Krall, Jacob Collier and Avishai Cohen. (Can someone pinch her?)
However, it also reminded her how she had started with music from the first place, watching MTV as a teenager, and realized it’s all about enjoying singing casual lyrics from the heart, writing simple, catchy songs…and she decided to start creating RnB mainstream music. Therefore, living in NYC, the Jazz capital, was no longer relevant for this realization and career shift, so basing herself in Los Angeles was only natural.
Despite the fact that Shir was born and raised in Israel, her curls reminds of Cher but her name is pronounced Sheer, she brings vintage vibes by mixing her Jazzy influences and vocals (that can easily remind you of Amy Winehouse, Sade and Toni Braxton) blended nicely into 2020’s RnB/Trap mainstream. Not forgetting her roots, Shir combines her Israeli influences in her music production thanks to her flutes and some gentle Hebrew, her native language, that helps balancing perfectly between West and East within her songwriting.
Every single was produced by a different rising LA music producer and has it’s own niche within the genre. That way she created her debut collaborations EP that’ll be fully released on August 27, 2020.
Wanna know more? Shir served the Israeli Defense Forces as a lead singer of the army orchestra. As soon as she finished her service, she became the background vocalist of two of the most well known artists in Israel, Matti Caspi and Riki Gal for two years. After she recieved a full scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music she stayed in the US after her graduation, where she had a significant growth as a person and as an artist.
